EPT. Three letters that will give every poker player on the old continent goosebumps. Europe's oldest, largest and most prestigious poker tour will once again bring a poker feast consisting of a never-ending cash game and 63 trophy events to Casino Barcelona for the 17th time.
It was the Barcelona stop that was the birthplace of the very first EPT in September 2004, with then champion Alexander Stevic taking home €80,000. Since that year, Barcelona has been the one stop that has played every single year without exception (including 2017, when the EPT became the PSC). Everything gradually escalated until 2022, when Italian Giuliano Bendinelli became the champion of the biggest Main Event ever after an incredible heads-up battle for €1,491,133.
Last year's edition took care of breaking perhaps all of its records, and even with the trend that has carried throughout this year's WSOP in Vegas, many are expecting more record-breaking entries. We'll certainly be keeping a close eye on the €1,100 ESPT Main Event, which last year attracted a whopping 6,313 entries (prizepool of €6,060,480), marking the largest player field of any EPT event in history.
Of course, there will be plenty to watch during these two weeks, and the highlights of this stop will once again include the €10,200 Mystery Bounty event, the €550 Estrellas Cup, the €2,200 ESPT High Roller, as well as the spectator-pleasing High Rollers with buy-ins ranging from €25,000 to €100,000.
