EPT: We got to know the names of the Main Event finalists, someone will take home €1,000,000 already today

The penultimate day of the EPT Monte-Carlo's record-breaking Main Event is now over, and we're looking forward to a spectacular finale that will see one of the last 7 players take home the equivalent of €1 million at the end of the day.

The now-concluded €5,300 buy-in EPT Monte-Carlo Main Event became the biggest ever held here with 1,208 entries. The prizepool has reached €5,858,800 and the winner is looking at an even €1,000,000.

The progress of the fifth day of play

The top 16 players made it to yesterday's Day 5, with names like Adrian Mateos and David Docherty among them. Leading this line-up as a massive chipleader was German player Philipp Wenzelburger with a stack of up to 6,545,000.

However, the course of the day was tough on all three of the aforementioned players and none of them made it to the final table. The first to bust out was David Docherty, who started the day with just one blind. He took home €40,600 for his 16th place finish. Adrian Mateos narrowly missed out on the 9 seat final table. He finished in 11th place with a prize of €70,300.

The original chipleader Philipp Wenzelburger was losing from his stack throughout the day and eventually had to say goodbye to the tournament in 9th place for €91,500. He was sent home by Rania Nasreddine, who took the chiplead.

Who made it to the final table?

After the elimination of Jozef Cibiček in 8th place, the game continued for a while and then the game stopped. That left 7 players in today's final table, led by Bulgaria's Boris Angelov with a stack of 11,500,000. In second place is American player Radia Nasreddine with a stack of 7,900,000.

All finalists have at least €154,900 in their pockets already. Play will get underway again at 12:30pm on blinds of 100k/150k/150k, and the 90-minute levels will run again. Of course, there is a livestream which is scheduled to start at 13:00.
