Adam Tama from Hungary becomes the first champion of 2025

Article cover

Banco Bratislava started the New Year on a great note. The first event of 2025, the Banco Casino Championship, recorded 1,340 entries, which meant that the guarantee was breached and the prizepool reached €227,800. The last 16 players made it through to yesterday's final table, and they battled it out for the title in front of our cameras. You can also watch footage of the final table on our website.

The last 16 players were seated at the Championship semi-final tables at 4:00pm on Monday. They were tasked with making it to the final table, where the €38,000 top prize was up for grabs. However, they all had already secured €1,770, which no one wanted to settle for. After a few eliminations, we saw the final table form, with Peter Ješko as chipleader.

During the final table, Ješko consolidated his position as chipleader, but in the most important game of the evening, which was played in the last three, he pulled the short end of the stick. He got into an all-in confrontation against Adam Tamao from Hungary, who found jacks, and Peter Ješko had "only" pocket eights. After this loss, he fell to 1.5BB, from which he tried to rally, but failed. In the end, he had to settle for third place and a prize of €16,520.

The heads-up lasted only one hand. Michael Rolt sent all in with pocket sixes which Adam Tama called with pocket aces without hesitation. No sixes appeared on the board, and we were able to witness the "coronation" of the new champion. It was Adam Tama from Hungary, who took home €38,000 without a deal. Congratulations!
