Adrian Mateos will clearly be the main focus of today's article from the record-breaking WSOP Main Event. He showed everyone why he is one of the best players in the world once again on the TV table.
Adrian found K-K under the gun and after the flop his opponent Will Berry raised to 425k with aces, which Mateos called. After the turn, Berry had already bet 1,300,000 and Mateos began to have second thoughts. After a minute of deliberation, Adrian finally mucked his kings and immediately earned praise from the stream commentators. Many referred to Mateos as the "GOAT" after the fold, and Joey Ingram even called it a "god mode fold".

Following the hand, current WSOP Player of the Year runner-up Scott Seiver, who has already won 3 bracelets this summer to bring his total to 7, also commented on Mateos. He tweeted, "On the one hand none of us are good enough to truly know who amongst the best is the best NL players in these things, but on the other hand it’s just obviously Mateos no questions asked."
While the media, commentators and many players were gushing over Mateos' discard, Adrian got into another interesting hand when he found aces under his hand for a change. Adrian Garcia was now playing against Mateos, who found A-K in spades and opted to go all-in for 2.9 million. Mateos immediately called that and everyone watched the board tensely.
The board certainly didn't please Mateos, however, as his opponent hit a flush here, and the Spanish player fell to 440k. Moments after this hand, Mateos was already walking to the cashier for his $45,000 reward for 317th place. "It could be one of my worst bad beats for sure, especially in this tournament," Mateos said after the elimination.
All in against ACES!
