New Triton Series game day = new champion. Yesterday was no exception as day two of the $40k 7-Handed Mystery Bounty tournament took place. In it, the champion, former football professional, Mario Mosböck, was crowned.
$40,000 NLH – 7 Handed – Mystery Bounty
On the first day of play, players tried to accumulate a large amount of chips so that on the second day of play they could "hunt" for bounties as a reward for knocking out the opponent. A total of 96 players participated in the tournament, who made 66 re-entries and recorded a total of 162 entries.
The total prize pool of $6,480,000 was divided half and half between bounties and placement rewards. Bounties were only played after the bubble burst, where Lun Loon ended up with A K . He failed to flip into fours, although an ace landed on the board. The four that also appeared there meant money for the remaining 27 players.
After the elimination of other players such as Hecklen, Arends, and Punsri, the final table was formed, on which Michael Soyza was the chip leader.
Final table:
Michael Soyza – 118 BBs
Sammy Bolung – 55 BBs
Imad Derwiche – 38 BBs
Mario Mosböck – 34 BBs
Axel Hallay – 24 BBs
Steve O’Dwyer – 24 BBs
Fahredin Mustafov – 18 BBs
Viacheslav Buldygin – 14 BBs
Eight players took part in the final table, the first player to leave was Bulgarian Fahredin Mustafov, who was sent "home" by Mosböck. Next up was rookie Sammy Bolung, who turned his second Triton Series appearance into $121,000. Viačeslav Buldygin from Russia followed him, when he did not flip with AK to O'Dwyer's pair of sevens.
The last five began to be dominated by Mario Mosböck, who first eliminated Axel Hallay with QTo against the jacks, and later also Steve O'Dwyer, who held a pair of horses. Unfortunately for him, Mosböck had pocket aces and saw off O'Dwyer with $272,000.
Mosböck had a huge chip lead in the last three, and his rivals Soyza and Derwiche had a difficult task. Final table chip leader Michael Soyza lost momentum during the finals and eventually had to settle for third place and $333,000. The Malaysian player will have to wait for his third Triton Series title.
In the final heads-up, Mosböck had 66BB against Derwiche's 15BB. Although the players did not have similar stacks, they still had fun playing poker. In the last game, Imad Derwiche sent all in with 8 5 and Mario Mosböck called with Q T . After that, Mario Mosböck was able to raise the winning trophy above his head for which he also won $718,000. During the second day of play, he managed to collect 10 bounties, each of which he turns into at least $40,000. His fiancee with his friend Fedor Holz did not miss his crazy ride through the final table.
