Last night was the final day of the Triton Main Event at the WSOP Paradise in the Bahamas, and the winner was not only waiting for a trophy, but also for the gold WSOP Champions Bracelet.
The Triton Main Event had a buy-in of $106,000 and produced 182 entries, which meant a prizepool worth $18,200,000. A $3,850,000 prize awaited the winner. There were 15 players who advanced to the final day and Ossi Ketola led the way, followed by Fedor Holz with the second-largest stack.
It looked the same when the final table was made, with Ossi Ketola still the chipleader. However, he had to settle for fifth place, which was worth $1,172,000. Fedor busted out just before the final heads-up, taking home $1,830,000 for his third place finish.
Alex Foxen and Joao Vieira were pitted against each other in the final heads-up, with Alex having a stack of 33,050,000 and Joao having a stack of 12,450,000. The entire heads-up lasted only 6 hands and on the last hand Joao had only 450,000 left. After the board was dealt, Alex Foxen became the new Triton Main Event champion and WSOP bracelet winner, winning his third bracelet and catching his wife Kristen who has 5 bracelets. He increased his lifetime live tournament earnings to over $42.5 million.
