Amateur beats the pros

The top 19 players entered the final day and a €625,000 prize awaited the winner. The chipleader here was Santiago Nadal with a huge stack of up to 36,000,000. With the second biggest stack here worth 17,700,000 was Parker Talbot. At the other end was Sylvain Berthelot who had the smallest stack, just 11 blinds.

However, even the fact that he entered the final table with the smallest stack didn't stop him from making the final table. In addition, amateur player Sylvain Berthelot, who had only $7,440 worth of winnings up until yesterday, was also able to get in on the deal that took place after Talbot busted out in fourth place (€227,000).

The players negotiated a deal in which pro Martin Zamani took the biggest payday, €463,250. However, with €45,100 left to play for the winner, Sylvain Berthelot had a chance to take home even more than Zamani. Sylvain Berthelot was the winner in the end, too, after defeating Santiago Nadal in the final short heads-up match to take home €499,224.
