Tell us, how many times in your lifetime do you see a deal made up of more players than there are entrants at the final table? It's certainly not common. Today, we have a very unusual deal for you that took place in Las Vegas.
While Las Vegas is the current venue for the WSOP, today we take a look at the Wynn Casino, where a few days ago the Ladies NLH event took place as part of the Wynn Summer Classic. The buy-in for the tournament was $600 and the guarantee was $50,000.
Unusual deal
In the end, however, the tournament brought in as many as 209 entries, leaving a prizepool worth $107,635 to be shared. There were 27 players who could have made it to the ITM, with a nauseating deal born in the last 15 when the players negotiated an ICM chop. He awarded each of them cash prizes on a scale of $4,032 to $9,868.
The official winner, who took home the trophy and the highest prize money, was American player Lisa Childers. She earned $9,868. According to Twitter posts, the average stack before the deal was around 10 blinds and the player in 15th place only had an 8-blind stack. Instead of $1,600, she took home $4,032 thanks to the deal.
This situation also caused passions
Player Lindsay Kludt posted the whole situation on her twitter account, and perhaps she didn't expect the passions it would stir up. Some are defending the deal and appreciating the fact that so many people were able to come to an agreement, while others are criticizing it. The criticism has been mainly in the direction of the fact that it doesn't show female poker players in a good light when they make deals like this instead of fighting. Someone joked about the whole situation and suggested to do a 4,000-way chop next time during a WSOP tournament.
