A few days ago, the world media reported on the accident that happened near the island of Formentera on the Spanish coast, just a few kilometers south of the island of Ibiza. The flames engulfed a luxurious 27-meter yacht, which literally burned to the ground within a few minutes. The official value of the yacht is not known, but the amount for its summer charter of £46,000 alone is breathtaking.
Although the Spanish coast service tried to save the ship and tow it to the shore, it was not possible and the whole beauty ended up at the bottom of the sea. The whole situation was monitored by the relevant departments, and thanks to the number of drones in the vicinity, a video montage was even created capturing this disaster from several points of view.
According to the official report, there were 17 people on board at the time of the accident - five crew members and twelve passengers. As the accident happened close to the shore, there were a number of boats and ships in the vicinity that safely rescued everyone present and everyone escaped unhurt. Only one person had to be treated for a burn, but was released immediately, so it was nothing serious.
So who is the mysterious owner of the yacht "The Lion"? Under this nickname is the Spanish player Diego Gomez Gonzalez, whom many may remember from the final table of EPT Prague in 2012. This is where his nickname The Lion was born, as he appeared on this table in a lion suit, in which he walked to fifth place and a reward of €196,000.
Although Gonzales is considered to be mainly a cash game player, he is not lost in the tournament field, as evidenced by his rich hendonmob. It has cashouts totaling half a million dollars over 12 years, but the latest entry from June 2021 confirms that good CG will play a major role in it.
