It's only been a few days since we brought you the news of Nacho Barber's ill-advised comments. Barbero, as an ambassador for the online gaming site ACR, said during a livestream that he doesn't think the site is trying to fight cheating in any way. This took place during the U.S. Poker Open during a debate between him and Isaac Haxton.
The online poker room in question reacted to his comments at the time, stating that they did not like such publicly presented views from their ambassador and that they would have to talk to Nacho about their future together.
A decisive step by the company
The CEO of the poker room is Phil Nagy, who has earnings of more than $1.5 million on his live tournament resume. From one of Chris Moneymaker's past interviews, we learned that there is virtually no chance of being fired at ACR because Phil Nagy doesn't like to take people's jobs very much.
But everything has its limits, and Nacho Barbero just hit one such limit. Phil Nagy himself has now made a public statement on the social network X/Twitter where he said, "At ACR Poker, we hold our team members to the highest standards of integrity and commitment. Recent comments by team pro Nacho Barbero regarding the use of GTO Wizard have raised serious concerns about his understanding of our security measures and his role as an ambassador. To our knowledge, Nacho has not brought any security concerns or questions to us, either in team pro meetings or through direct communication. As an ambassador, partner, and friend, we expect our team pros to engage with us proactively if they have any concerns about the platform."
"We never censor our pros or tell them what to say, but we do expect them to speak truthfully and be well-informed about our security efforts so they can represent us—and the facts—accurately. The nature of these comments reflects a fundamental misalignment with our values. As a result, we have decided to part ways with Nacho as an ambassador for ACR Poker. We remain committed to ensuring a positive and secure gaming experience for our community, built on the foundation of trust and respect."

So, as is evident from this public statement by the CEO of the online poker room himself, Nacho Barbero has crossed the line with his comments and the poker room has terminated its cooperation with him. If you were expecting the game room to receive a lot of positive reactions for this move, we have to disappoint you. There are dozens of comments below their post, but most of them point out that ACR doesn't mind being accused of cheating, but it bothers them if ambassadors speak negatively about the game room.
The only question left in our minds now is what was Nacho Barbero thinking when he publicly presented his critical statements about the online gaming site he was an ambassador for?
Do you agree with the online gaming room's move, or would you have handled the issue in a different way? Let us know in the comments on our social networks.
