Article cover

Every week there is a tournament called GGMillion$, which has a $10,300 buy-in and a $1,000,000 guarantee. It regularly attracts the best players, and it was no different this time.

The tournament has now brought 116 entries and a prizepool worth $1,160,000, of which the winner had a prize of $252,073 awaiting him. Leading the final table was Austrian player Benjamin Rolle, who was kept company by three other compatriots.

However, there was no missing the record holder Artur Martirosian, who already had 10 GGMillion$ titles, 81 ITM placements and 42 final tables to his name before this final table. Those stacks are a record, and Juan Pardo Dominguez, who is in second place, has just 4 titles and 53 ITM placings to Artur's total.

Also sitting at the final table was Niklas Astedt, who has one more final table in GGMillion$ than Artur, but his number of titles is only at number 4. Niklas Astedt has made more than $33 million in winnings at this one online poker room alone.

Those were the brief stats and now let's move on to the developments of last night's tournament. The entire final table lasted just 3 hours, and we didn't see a single elimination in the first 2 hours. Niklas Astedt finished in 7th place, followed by the first Austrian player to be eliminated, Simon Beckmann. Playing in the last four, there were three players playing under the Austrian flag and Artur Martirosian playing under the Bahamian flag.

Here we witnessed a 3-way all-in after which Marius Gierse and Diego Zeiter had to bid farewell to the tournament. Marius earned $120,063 for 4th place and Diego earned $153,738 for 3rd place. Immediately, the game moved to heads-up play, where Artur Martirosian was the chipleader and Benjamin Rolle was sitting opposite him. Heads-up play lasted just two hands, after which Artur Martirosian secured his record eleventh GGMillion$ title, surpassing the $9 million mark earned from GGMillion$ tournaments alone thanks to a $252,073 payday. Benjamin Rolle earned $196,859 for his second-place finish, and the four Austrian-flagged players earned a total of $543,886.
