Early poker Christmas this year traditionally came to Prague, where the popular stop of the prestigious EPT series took place. Since the very beginning, it has been able to brake many records, which we really got-both Eureka's events became the largest in Prague's history, but this success was also underlined by the beautiful result of Stanislav Koleno, who came up short in the final heads-up.
The set trend then continued in the second half of the festival, which belonged mainly to the main tournament of the event. Thanks to the 1.267 entries this year, the €5.300 Main Event broke the historical record of 2016 (1.192) and raised the prizepool value to €6,14.950.
The last two days of the 1.054,500 € tournament were welcomed only by the final nine players, dominated by the Canadian Jordan Saccucci. The final finish divided into two days during the first eliminated five players, which meant that the last quartet of the players fought until the final day:
- Jordan Saccucci - Canada - 12,925,000 (86bb)
- Antoine Saout – France - 10,400,000 (69bb)
- Istvan Pilhofer – Hungary - 10,600,000 (71bb)
- Jun Obara – Japan - 3,875,000 (26bb)
Quick final lasting only three hours brought 77 hands, and in the first Jun Strad was eliminated and ended up with 391,950 €. The next one who had to leave the table was the Hungarian representative István Pilhofer (470,500€), and the main event moved the tournament to the final heads-up. Before the heads-up, both guys agreed to take € 800,000 each and played for an extra € 113,250, a trophy and an immortal title.
Subsequently, it took only a few minutes for the unstoppable Saccucci to reach his life run to the winning end, which only underlined the last hand. In it Saout preflop twisted with a pair of 6 6 against Saccucci combinations A and 3, but immediately flop 4 3 3 practically decided. The turn and river did not change the situation, but they just sealed that the new EPT champion became Canadian representative Jordan Saccucci, who thus won a total of €913,250. Congratulations!
