High Stakes action has been concentrated at the PokerGO studio in Las Vegas for the past month, with two consecutive world-class events taking place there. The first was the Poker Masters series, from which Stephen Chidwick took the overall triumph and purple jacket after a thrilling finish. Then came the expensive Super High Roller Bowl, where defending champion Isaac Haxton made the best of a three-day quest for the championship ring.
A series for Mixed Games lovers
After these Holdem events, the organisers also delighted the lovers of other poker disciplines, for whom they prepared the second edition of the PGD Mixed Games series. The series offered a total of 8 events with buy-ins worth $10,200, which were topped off with a challenging $25,300 Championship event featuring 10 poker disciplines.
Davin Funkhouser, Chino Rheem, David Prociak, Dzmitry Urbanovich, Nick Schulman, Dylan Weisman and Hal Rotholz took home their trophies. Of these names, Chino Rheem, who already had one win and four final tables to his credit before the Main Event, moved ahead in the overall scoring.
Main Event
A challenging mix of ten $25k buy-in poker events produced a total of 29 entries, with Maxx Coleman ($245,630) being the only undefeated player. He defeated Alex Livingston in heads-up play, but it was Chino Rheem who took third place, thus definitively deciding the overall triumph.
Even with the final tournament still to be played after the Main Event, Chino managed to secure a comfortable lead, so it was a foregone conclusion that no one could threaten his overall triumph. His overall record of 5 final tables, one win and a total of $433,600 in winnings is just a testament to the great form he carried over from the Poker Masters. There he also booked 5 ITM finishes with one win, but the title was snatched from him by the aforementioned Stephen Chidwick. Here, no one else got ahead of Chino and he was able to take home a $25,000 bonus in addition to the overall champion's trophy.
