The Wynn Las Vegas hosted the World Poker Tour series in recent weeks, with the highlight and Main Event being a $10,400 buy-in tournament called the WPT World Championship.
This tournament brought in 2,392 entries, making the prizepool worth $23,441,600, with $3,138,900 awaiting the winner. This includes a $10,400 ticket to next year's WPT World Championship.
Sixteen players advanced to yesterday's Day 5 and they were led by Chris Moorman, who was the chipleader last year as well. German player Fabian Gumz was also in action and was the WPT Prime Slovakia Championship champion. Fabian didn't make the final table in Las Vegas and had to settle for a $255,000 payday for 12th place.
The challenge yesterday was to get to know the final six players, and that's exactly what happened. Leading the finalists is Eddie Pak with a stack of 66,200,000. Behind him is Chris Moorman with a stack of 60,800,000. Chris finished 4th in this tournament last year, taking home nearly $2.1 million, his biggest career payday. This time around, he has a chance to repeat and could challenge for the win.
All 6 finalists already have at least $665,000 in their pockets. Play will resume tonight from 4pm local time when the blinds will start at 400k/800k/800k and run 90 minute levels. You can also look forward to the live stream, which is scheduled to start at approximately 1:30am our time.
We will also meet the $3K NLH champion
There will be one more final table on the WPT schedule tonight, and that's the $3K NLH event, which brought in 1,570 entries and a prizepool of $4,317,500. The winner here will have $702,844 to play for tonight, with the top 9 players playing for it.
The chipleader here is American player Cameron Rezaie with a stack of 10,500,000. The most experienced player here is Jeremy Becker, whose stack of 2,625,000 puts him in 7th place. Jeremy has live tournament winnings worth more than $2.5 million. All of the finalists have already pocketed at least $67,159.
