Just before the turn of the year, the Rozvadov poker room prepared for us the Czech Poker Masters Christmas Edition, whose Main Event guaranteed €400,000 with a buy-in of €150. A ticket to the WSOP Europe 2025 Main Event worth €10,350 was also waiting for the top 5 players.
Despite the festive period, the tournament brought in 4,452 entries, bringing the prizepool to €544,034. Of that amount, €80,250 awaited the winner, and the Czech player Miloslav Bareš was the best placed to claim the prize, as he was among the 43 finalists to emerge as chipladder.
Miloslav eventually made his way to the final table, but started from 4th place. The chipleader was German player Dong He with a stack of 53,500,000. He was kept company by three other Germans, and the fourth finished in 9th place just before the final table folded, when two players busted out at the same time in a ten-player hand.
The only Czech player at the final table, Miloslav Bareš, eventually finished in 7th place, worth €9,200. He bid farewell to the tournament after falling to the last 4 blinds.
The last five players saw a deal, after which it was down to the winner. The top 4 places were taken by the German group and the winner was Mario Deck, who went into heads-up play with the advantage of a couple of blinds. After six hands, we also knew the winner, which was Mario Deck. He took home the prize money of €44,460. Martin Berge came in second place with a prize of €34,535. All five players in the deal also took home a ticket to the WSOPE European Championship.
