As we informed you in our yesterday's article, tonight in the premises of the PokerGO studio in Las Vegas, an interesting battle for the audience took place within the fourth series of the High Stakes Duel, where Daniel Negreanu and Doug Polk faced each other.
The two have been feuding over social media for years, culminating in their joint online duel called the High Stakes Feud. Heads-up with $200/$400 blinds and 25,000 hands was then won by Doug Polk, who robbed Daniel of more than $1.2 million.
After Daniel Negreanu won the first round against Eric Persson in the fourth series of the High Stakes Duel show, and Eric refused to retaliate, the search was on for a new opponent for Daniel. This became his former rival, now friend, Doug Polk, who had to pay a buy-in of $100,000.
According to the new rules, Daniel Negreanu could become the champion of the fourth series of the High Stakes Duel with two wins in a row, and at the same time he had the opportunity to take revenge on Doug for his previous loss.
And so it happened! After about three hours of play, Daniel Negreanu defeated Polk and became the champion of the fourth series of HSD. However, Daniel did not have it easy at all, during the fight he was at a 2:1 disadvantage. In the end, however, he was able to turn it around and thanks to this last hand, he took home the championship belt and $200,000.
Negreanu thus ended the High Stakes Duel 4 and stated that he would not offer rematch. He will focus on WSOP tournaments and winning bracelets. According to him, he plans to visit both WSOP Europe in Kings Resort and WSOP Paradise in the Bahamas. However, he does not resist the challenge in the first round of the next High Stakes Duel series.
