Article cover

The 888poker Live Glasgow series was held at the Grosvenor Casino Merchant City Glasgow in recent days, where players were primarily attracted by the Main Event with a buy-in of £888 and a guarantee of £250,000.

The entries count reached 407, which meant a prizepool worth £324,800. A prize of £58,130 awaited the winner, and the top nine players battled it out on the final day. Their chipleader was Daniel Johnson with a stack of 3,455,000.

The final day

Johnson eventually made his way through to the final heads-up where Dean Lyall sat opposite him. Dean opened with a stack of 7,115,000 and Johnson opened with a stack of 5,135,000. This left both players with a stack of over 60 blinds. The entire heads-up ended with a hand in which Johnson found pocket sixes and Lyall found pocket kings.

After the board was dealt, the kings resisted and Dean Lyall was crowned the 888poker Live Glasgow Main Event champion, taking home the trophy and £58,130. Daniel Johnson was Lyall's sixth victim, and earned £42,940 for his second place finish.
