56 Players Remain in the Eureka Main Event, $25,000 High Roller Champion Gutierrez

The $1,100 Eureka moves on to Day 3, featuring 56 players. The $25,000 Super High Roller saw the champion take home $417,570.

$1,100 Eureka Main Event

The record-breaking $1,100 Eureka Main Event, which is currently taking place in Cyprus, had a record-breaking Day 2 yesterday, with 418 players making it through the opening day's field of 2,803 entries. The prizepool is $2,662,850 and the winner will be rewarded with $386,210.

All Day 2 entrants were assured of $1,680, but they certainly wouldn't settle for that. Throughout the day, we saw a number of eliminations at the end of which the last 56 players remained in play. The chipleader's chair remained unchanged, and sitting on it after Day 2 is Marian Virlanuta from Romania with a stack of 4,680,000 chips.

$25,000 SHR Warm Up

The $25,000 SHR Warm Up was played yesterday during the EPT Cyprus and there were some interesting prizes up for grabs. A total of 57 entries created a prizepool worth $1,368,570. The tournament featured some interesting names such as Kayhan Mokri, Juan Pardo, Adrian Mateos, and Roman Hrabec.

It was the Czech representative Roman Hrabec that we followed closely. In the end, his participation ended rather early and he did not get to fight for the ITM. Adrian Mateos, who had just recently visited our capital city, was also in the game and came in a nice third place in the tournament.

Elias Gutierrez and Alexander Zubov met in the heads-up of this High Roller. The chip advantage was on the side of Gutierrez, whose advantage was about 10:1. However, Zubov didn't fold and managed to turn the tide before the break. A 15-minute break fell in favour of the Spanish representative Gutierrez, who tipped the scales back on his side and eventually won. He took home $417,570 for the win.
