Benny Glaser rewrites history after winning the 20th COOP title
In live poker, success is often measured by titles that tease players into a race, in addition to the actual money won. Thanks to this, we are regularly bombarded with information about winning titles from the EPT, Triton, or valuable jewels from the WSOP and WSOPC series. But online poker also has its trophy counterparts, where titles from the SCOOP and WCOOP series are considered the most valuable.
This year's WCOOP Online World Championship of Poker is already in full swing and will bring us a lot of interesting stories and lifetime wins until October 4th. What the year 2023 has already managed to bring is the overcoming of historical tables, which were taken care of not once, but twice by the British professional Benny Glaser.
Successes on the live poker scene
Glaser is a long-time fixture in the poker world, which he commemorated this year at the WSOP by winning another bracelet. He managed to win that along with a prize of $311,428 in the $10,000 2-7 Triple Draw Championship, bringing his number of bracelets to five. At the same time, his live tournament winnings crossed the $7 million mark, which puts him in ninth place on the English all-time money list.
List of Benny's WSOP bracelets:
- 2015: 1,500$ Limit Triple Draw – 136,215$
- 2016: 1,500$ Omaha Hi/Lo – 244,103$
- 2016: 10,000$ Omaha Hi/Lo Championship – 407,194$
- 2021: 10,000$ Razz Championship – 274,693$
- 2023: 10,000$ Limit 2-7 Triple Draw Championship – 311,428$
Valuable online success
While these achievements are certainly worth mentioning and we must bow before them, something even better is hidden in their shadow. Online results are not as prominent as live results, but that can be a shame. Because it was Benny Glaser under the nickname "Rungodlike" who broke the all-time charts last week by winning his 19th and subsequently his 20th COOP title in the period of a few days!
Just a few days ago, Benny was rejoicing in the record 19th title he won in the lesser-known FL Badugi discipline, with four more final tables and two second places to his credit this year. He managed to break his luck on Saturday, September 16, when he won the 2-7 Triple Draw Championship, the same event in which he won the WSOP bracelet this year!
In total, this is his record 20th COOP title, which is nicely split half and half - ten from SCOOP and ten from WCOOP. From his point of view, this year is especially record-breaking, where he managed to hit three titles at the SCOOP, and two at the ongoing WCOOP (the festival lasts until October 4).
