Record-breaking Goliath ended a 9-way deal that left Will Watkins the winner

Will Watkins is the new trophy holder from the record-breaking Goliath Tournament. Even though Will took home the trophy, he didn't take home the biggest prize from the tournament.

With a record 11,749 entries, The Goliath tournament produced a prizepool of up to £1,879,840 at the Grosvenor Casino Coventry. Of this amount, £278,390 was awaiting the winner and the top 36 players battled it out on the final day.

Gilbert Black thus secured the biggest prize money of £175,575, knocking out a total of 12 opponents during the day. However, one was beyond his strength and he had to settle for second place. The winner of the record-breaking The Goliath tournament was Will Watkins, who took home the second highest prize of £166,070 and a trophy to boot.
