Record-breaking Goliath goes to the final, winner takes £278,390
Tonight we will meet the new champion of the Goliath tournament, which has once again brought in a record number of entries. 36 players will enter the final day, but only one of them can take home the £278,390 prize.
Once again, The Goliath, which is the biggest tournament outside of Las Vegas and breaks its own records every year, has come to the Grosvenor Casino Coventry. This year was no different.
The current edition of the tournament reached a record 11,749 entries, and with a buy-in of £160+£40, that means a prizepool of £1,879,840. A cash prize awaited all those advancing to Day 2. The smallest prize was worth £440 and the winner will be waiting for as much as £278,390.
That's the amount 36 players will be fighting for on the final day today and all of them already have at least £2,500 in their pockets. The chipleader with a huge stack of up to 23,375,000 here is Gilbert Black. The final day kicks off at 11:00am.
