Doug Polk had to pay almost 170 thousand dollars to JNandez in a lawsuit

Article cover

We have another article from the tabloid category. Even on the poker scene, we cannot avoid various interesting situations, "beefs" or scandals. Today we'll talk more about the lawsuit that lasted several years and its main figures were Fernando "JNandez" Habegger and Doug Polk.

The whole problem dates back to 2017, specifically towards the end of this year, when JNandez joined the Upswing Poker team owned by Doug Polk as a PLO couch. However, this collaboration did not last long, and already at the beginning of 2018, JNandez left Upswing.

After he left, the whole problem and mutual accusations started. Doug claimed that Fernando breached the contract by leaving and accused him of trying to steal his clients as well as the site's content.

This whole thing ended up in court. The lawsuit was filed by Doug Polk, who made various accusations against Fernando. However, Fernando defended himself by saying that he had a 90-day period in the contract during which he could withdraw from the contract, and he used it when he left. Polk responded to this claim by saying that he did not know about this clause in the contract.

Fernando also defended himself against claims that he stole educational content from the Upswing website. On his twitter, he published a list of educational material that he himself created back in 2014 and was published on RIO. So, he couldn't have stolen it from UpswingPoker during his short collaboration.

However, this whole case was revived a few days ago by someone completely different, and that is Charlie Carrel, who published a video on Twitter with an attack against Doug. At the same time, he also mentioned the court case in question. Doug's reactions didn't take long, and neither did Fernando's.

The whole lawsuit ended with Doug Polk having to pay Fernando $150,216 in legal fees and almost $18,000 in lost profits.

This is the basic information of this whole problem. However, this case has a lot of other details and interesting things that you can find on the profile JNandez on twitter.

Fernando talked about the whole problem in a new interview for OnlyFriends. We will leave it to your own discretion as to who is right in this dispute.
