Saturday is one of the strongest playing days of any event at Banco Casino, and this was evident yesterday when a number of players came to compete for one of the last remaining spots. The Euro Poker Championship Main Event had about half of its guarantee collected up until yesterday, but that has changed and at this point the guarantee has been honored. To this point, players have registered for the tournament a total of 1,409 times, bringing the total number of advancers on Day 2 to 174.
The EPC Main Event recorded 774 entries during yesterday's three flights, setting up 96 qualifying spots for today's Day 2. The challenge on Day 2 will be to whittle the field down to the last 16 players who will meet in a battle for the trophy live in front of our cameras.
ME EPC €400,000 GTD - Day 1G: 315 entries
ME EPC €400,000 GTD - Day 1H: 347 entries
ME EPC €400,000 GTD - Day 1I Turbo: 112 entries
The last chance to advance by the Hyper Turbo Flight starts at 10:00am with registration open until 12:30pm. There is also a side event for Banco Casino players, the EPC Mystery Bounty €20,000 GTD side event with an entry fee of €200 + €25, which is expected to see a massive turnout, making for some serious "mystery" prizes to be played for.
