EPT. Three letters that will give every poker player on the old continent goosebumps. The oldest, largest and most prestigious poker tour in Europe will anchor at CasinoBarcelona for the 17th time, where it will once again bring a poker holiday consisting of an endless cash game and 63 trophy events.
It was the Barcelona stop in September 2004 that became the birthplace of the very first EPT, in which then-champion Alexander Stevic took home €80,000. Since that year, Barcelona has been the only stop that has taken place every single year without exception (including in 2017, when the EPT changed to the PSC). Everything gradually escalated until 2022, when the Italian Giuliano Bendinelli became the champion of the biggest Main Event for €1,491,133 after an incredible heads-up.
Last year's edition managed to break almost all of its records, but even considering this year's trend, which was carried throughout the WSOP in Vegas, many expect more record entries. We will certainly be watching closely the €1,100 ESPT Main Event, which attracted an incredible 6,313 entries (prizepool €6,060,480) to the game last year, which meant the largest field of players among all EPT events in history.
Of course, there will be a lot to look at during these two weeks, but among the highlights of this stop there is again the €10,200 Mystery Bounty event, €550 Estrellas cup, €2,200 ESPT High Roller, as well as audience-interesting High Rollers with buy-ins from €25,000 to €100,000 each.
