EPT Cyprus has kicked off, what can we look forward to?

Article cover

After the WSOPE concluded at the Rozvadov poker room, the next popular series, the European Poker Tour, immediately began, taking refuge at the Merit Royal Diamond Casino & Spa in Cyprus.

What's in store?

EPT Cyprus takes place from October 9 to October 20 and after a successful debut last year, even bigger numbers are expected this year. The first tournament that has already kicked off is the $1,100 buy-in Eureka Main Event. Last year it brought 2,659 entries and a prizepool of $2,552,640, which was achieved over 4 flights. This year players will be treated to up to 6 flights so we can expect to surpass those numbers. The first two flights are already behind us and they brought in 382 entries.

The main draw is clearly the EPT Main Event with a buy-in of $5,300, which last year brought 1,320 entries and a prizepool of $6,402,000. The winner then, Gilles Simon, took home $1,042,000. The EPT Main Event will take place from October 14 to October 20.

Fans of high rollers can also look forward to it. There are 3 tournaments with a buy-in of $25,000, one with a buy-in of $20,000 and one with a buy-in of $50,000. The most expensive one will take place on the dates from October 13 to 15.

Mystery Bounty and livestreams

The popular Mystery Bounty format will not be absent, and there will be up to three such tournaments. The smallest buy-in will be $1,650 and the highest will be $10,200. The one with the highest buy-in is already underway and today we'll find out the winner. The tournament brought 62 entries and 26 advancers. Names like Artur Martirosian, Adrian Mateos, Alexey Ponakovs and Samuel Mullur made it to the final table. Late registration is open until the start of the final day.

EPT Cyprus will also delight livestream fans. On October 15, we will have a livestream of the final day of the $50,000 High Roller, and from October 16 to October 20, you can look forward to the traditional batch of daily streams from the EPT Main Event.

Non-poker activities

Players will also be treated to a variety of activities such as an Island Boat Tour, wine and cheese tasting at Gillham Vineyard, karaoke, darts, and a Players Party at Versace Gardens with live music, food, and an open bar.
