Record sealed

From day one, we all expected the EPT Paris Main Event to break all-time records, and the first flight made it clear that those expectations would be met. A pair of opening days, combined with late registration, finally stopped the entries count at 1,747, making this Main Event the largest ever played outside of Barcelona and the 6th largest overall in EPT history!

In total, players collected a prizepool worth €8,385,600 between them, with the champion of this event going home €1,287,800 richer. The top 255 players, who we got to know yesterday, managed to take a share of this pot. Bursting the bubble was the underdog Ignacio Molina from Spain, who bumped into under Eliot Hudon's hand, giving all players an $8,650 mincash.

By the end of the day, over 30 players had still managed to bust out, leaving the top 222 players to pack their stacks. Those are currently led by Canadian Eliot Hudon, but the likes of Barny Boatman, Gianluca Speranza, Aleksejs Ponakovs, Max Neugebauer, Leo Worthington-Leese, Anton Wigg, Padraig O'Neill, Timothy Adams and Byron Kaverman are still in action.

Reigning champion from Prague Padraig O'Neill is still going strong

The aforementioned 222 advancers will meet in the third day of play today from 13:00, and you will be able to once again follow this journey live via the Live Stream, which can be found on our website. Although players are assured of a €9,900 cashout at this point, everyone's goal today will be to survive the five 90-minute levels and get that much closer to fulfilling their dream.

Mistake Averted Early

If you've been following the EPT live streams, you'll have noticed a moment yesterday that thankfully had a positive outcome. The ultra-short Baqal here for his tournament life spun with a hand of , which Rouissi called with . Board brought Baqal a straight, but the dealer misjudged the hand as a split. Fortunately, the players, the overheads, the surrounding rail and the called floor immediately intervened, and after a short pause and a recount of the stacks, the hand was resolved correctly and no mistake was made. Thus, the EPT officials did not copy the mistakes of competing series and only confirmed that it is no coincidence that this series has been enjoying a huge player following for 20 years.

Another trophy for Mulder

Another of the 5-figure buy-in tournaments was yesterday's €25k High Roller, which saw 38 daredevils take to the felt. They took care of the €1,199,520 prizepool thanks to 51 entries, which was split between the top 7 players. The Spade trophy eventually ended up in the hands of Dutch high stakes pro Teun Mulder, who won €389,870.
