Another sieve in the Main Event
The journey to find out the Main Event champion has reached the next stage, which was yesterday's Day 3. Another sieve made sure that the field was reduced, and out of the 222 entrants on the day, only the last 57 players made it to the stack pack.
The chiplead is currently held by Greek player Panagiotis Mavritsakis, who finished third in last year's €161,500 Irish Open. The runner-up spot belongs to Canadian Eric Afriat, who has so far garnered success mainly in the USA, where he has also won three WPT titles. Tom Middleton, the 2013 EPT Barcelona champion, rounds out the imaginary podium.
Several familiar faces remain in the field, including Peter Jorgne, Anton Wigg, Leo Worthington-Leese, Barny Boatman, Byron Kaverman and Dimitar Danchev. These players will resume play from 13:00, when they will take their seats at the tables for certainty of a €19,850 payout. The goal for the day is to finish in the top 16 players, and as usual, you will be able to follow the action via Live Stream to see if they can do it.
Second trophy for Dvoress
Canadian pro Daniel Dvoress got the Paris EPT off to a more than ideal start when he managed to win the €25k High Roller for €444,840. As if that wasn't enough, 4 days later Dvoress turned on another of these one-day events, and once again he fought off all of his 23 opponents. This resulted in a second spade-five trophy in quick succession and another €275,780 to go with it.

Hossein Ensan in the €3k Mystery Bounty final
The name Hossein Ensan certainly needs no introduction to the poker public. The German pro with Iranian roots came closest to the public in 2019 when he won the WSOP Main Event. He also has the 2015 EPT Prague title to his name, and he can claim his next Spade trophy today. That's because today is the final day of the €3,000 Mystery Bounty event, where the final 14 players, including Ensign, will be in action for €298,796 out of 997 entries.
