Even though the Paris stop of the EPT is the youngest of them all, it's clearly not one to be embarrassed. This was clearly proven by the €1,100 Main Event of the FPS series, which so far holds the record of 2,138 entries that the EPT Monte-Carlo managed to produce last year. The Paris EPT had already surpassed that number during Flight 1D, and with all flights complete, the new record is almost double - 4,149 entries!

A total of 1,930 players from all over the world made sure to post these amazing numbers, which for the 619 advancing players means that they will be in play today to continue the battle for the €3,983,040 prizepool. The payout structure hasn't been released yet, but we can expect the winner of this tournament to come away with a sum that can already be life-changing!

Of course, yesterday was no exception, and we saw a number of well-known names from the poker world at the tables. Belgian poker ambassador Kenny Hallaert sailed through Flight 1E without the slightest problem and settled on the chiplead with a stack of 703,000. Dara O'Kearney and Georgios Vrakas, for example, also bagged their stacks.

An essential part of every EPT are the High Roller events with buy-ins starting at €10k. The first of these was a €25k one-day event in Paris, which saw 38 players take to the felt yesterday. They took care of a total of 51 entries, leaving a prizepool of €1,199,520 up for grabs, which was redistributed among the top 7 players.

As usual, events like this attract world-class names to the game, and this tournament was certainly no exception. The final table itself was a testament to this, with the likes of Mike Watson, Adrian Mateos, Stephen Chidwick, Daniel Dvoress and Sam Greenwood. The Spade trophy, along with the €389,820 prize, eventually went to Stephen Chidwick, who took down Adrian Mateos in heads-up play.
