Article cover

The fact that the EPT series has returned to its birthplace is surely well known to all of you, but now day by day viewers from all over the world are interested in how the whole festival is developing. The opening of the event is the "mini ME", which is the €1,100 Estrellas Poker Tour tournament, which last year became the largest event ever hosted by the EPT.

After the first two flights, two more took place yesterday, and the rapidly growing interest of players shows that the record will be hard to resist this year as well. Flight 1C produced 961 entries yesterday, and the evening's 459 entries in 1D means that the total entry counter already shows the number 1,928 after four flights.

The last four flights of this tournament will take place today and tomorrow, which will always offer late reg during 11 levels and will always be played to the best 15%. On both days, it will start with the first flight at noon, and will continue at 19:00.

While most players were focused on their progress in the aforementioned ME ESPT yesterday, the final day of the €10,200 Mystery Bounty event was taking place nearby. Even though the finals were full of really big names in world poker, as the clock ticked, only Erik Seidel, Patrick Kennedy and Conor Beresford managed to make it to the final table.

It was the last-named representative of Great Britain who made it the farthest, when only one opponent separated him from the win. The opponent was Mathias Duarte from Uruguay, and he used his advantage in heads-up to the full and dealt with the aforementioned Beresford. In addition to the aforementioned Spade trophy, his reward was €104,500, to which he added another €87,500 from the envelope bounty. The mentioned win is the biggest in Duarte's career, and he followed up with his compatriot Francisco Benitez, who won the same tournament last year.
