Eureka Main Event dominated by Martin Tsvetanov, Gerald Karlic runner-up after the deal

The Eureka Main Event set a new record at EPT Prague with 4,732 entries for a prize pool of €4,542,720. Of this amount, the winner was able to take home €517,730. 14 players made it through to the final table, led by Martin Tsvetanov from Bulgaria.

Gerald Karlic sat at the final table as chipleader and Tsvetanov was somewhere in the middle. In the last three players, Tsvetanov was down to 10 blinds, and it only took a few minutes before he was chipleader again. Tsvetanov and Karlic made it to the final heads-up where they negotiated a deal that was followed by a €19,034 hand. Martin Tsvetanov was the eventual champion and took home €449,034. Austrian player Gerald Karlic took home €396,086 for second place after the deal.

Super High Roller

 

Yesterday's schedule also included the final table of the EPT Super High Roller with a buy-in of €50,000, which attracted 25 entries and a prizepool of €1,187,500. Cash prizes awaited 5 players and the winner could take home €450,500.

Thomas Santerne and Niklas Astedt went into the final heads-up. They also made a deal together, after which they were in a race for €25,000. The winner was Thomas Santerne, who pocketed €385,725. Thomas picked up his second EPT trophy in a matter of days, as he was also the winner of the €20,000 NLH tournament, where he took home €175,000 after the deal.

EPT Main Event has kicked off

 

Yesterday also brought us the first Flight 1A of the €5,300 buy-in EPT Main Event, which brought 466 entries and 146 advancers. The chipleader here is Gianfranco Iaculli from Italy with a stack of 294,000. The list of advancers also includes names like Max Neugebauer, Vanessa Kade, David Docherty, Lukas Pažma, Roman Hrabec, Jon Kyte and Morten Klein.
