Rozvadov Kings Resort once again hosted the popular German Poker Days series, with the Main Event guaranteeing €300,000 for a buy-in of €174+€25. A ticket to the WSOP Europe Main Event worth €10,350 was also waiting for the top four players.
Although it looked like an overlay before the last chances to advance, in the end the entry count stopped at 1,745 and the guarantee was met. From the opening flights, players here went straight through to the final table. For advancing, each player secured a reward of €400 in their casino account. An additional €43,500 awaited the winner in addition to this reward.
As many as 5 German-speaking players made it to the final table and even the chipleader was Austrian player Peter Gavril-Dorel. He eventually made it to heads-up play, where German player Frand Roland Schmueser sat against him. Schmueser started heads-up play with a stack of up to 68 million, while Gavril-Dorel had just 17,500,000. Schmueser eventually robbed his opponent of all his chips and emerged as the winner, earning himself €43,900. Gavril-Dorel took home €25,700 for his second place finish, and both also earned the aforementioned ticket to the WSOPE European Championship.
