Europe's oldest poker series is called the Irish Open and it is held at the Royal Dublin Society, where it brought the €2,500,000 Main Event with a buy-in of €1,150.
New records
The first record was set by Flight 1D, which reached a whopping 1,841 entries. After that, we got to know the total number of entries, which is also record breaking. The new record is 4,562 entries, which represents a record prizepool of €4,447,950. A prize of €600,000 awaits the winner.
As many as 1,393 players advanced to yesterday's Day 2, but only 671 of them could make it to the ITM. The minimum prize was worth €1,600. The Day 1A chipleader was Slovak player Martin Ilavsky, who finished in 515th place with a prize of €1,960.
At the end of Day 2, 218 players were left in the game and all of them had already pocketed at least €4,140. The chipleader is Dutch player Michel Molenaar with a stack of 3,815,000. Day 3 will also feature well known names such as Daniel Smiljkovic, Klemens Roiter, Steve O'Dwyer, Jon Kyte, Parker Talbot and Ari Engel.
