The popular High Stakes Duel show brought us its fifth edition, pitting WSOP Hall of Fame member Patrik Antonius and sports card shop owner Jared Bleznick against each other. The show has always run in NLH only format, but now the organisers have opted to alternate between NLH and PLO formats every 10 hands.
First round in Jared's favour
The first round of HSD 5 was played just last week. Each player had to put $50,000 into play and in the end, the winner of last year's Super High Roller Bowl PLO, Jared Bleznick, was happy with the win. Patrik antonius immediately called for a rematch and it took place during this night.
Round 2 in Jared's favor
In each subsequent round, players must double their previous buy-in, so now everyone put $100,000 into play. Jared Bleznick looked relaxed in the second round and had no problem increasing his stack. At one point, the stack ratio was 3:1 in Jared's favor.
On the last hand of the night, the players went at each other with A-J (Antonius) and A-Q (Bleznick). After the board was dealt, the winner was Jared Bleznick, who thus earned $150,000 from the two rounds. Patrik Antonius immediately called for a rematch, which will take place on November 26. The buy-in will now be $200,000. Will Patrik Antonius be the winner in round 3, and will we see a round 4 as well?
