After a successful stop in Vietnam, the world's most luxurious poker series has moved to Cyprus. The Merit Royal Diamond resort there is hosting an action-packed festival consisting of seventeen events with buy-ins from $20,000 to $200,000 from May 10 to 25.

The entire festival was kicked off by the $25k GG Super Millions Live event, which produced a record $3,950,000 prize pool thanks to 158 entries. The field full of world professionals was complemented by enthusiasts and entrepreneurs, including Indian representative Santhosh Suvarna, who took home two trophies and $700,000 after a 3-way deal.

Event No. 2, which was the $20k NLH 7-handed, already wrote a completely different story. Thanks to 138 entries, it produced a $2,760,000 prizepool, from which even the best players in the world took large portions. Names such as Sean Winter, Adrian Mateos, Stephen Chidwick and Jason Koon made it to the final table, who with five titles and 28 cashouts is the most successful player in the entire Triton series.

And Koon increased this leadership even more, as he was the one who left this tournament as the only undefeated player. After eliminating Stephen Chidwick in third, Koon went heads-up against Kanan Taherkhani with a 3.5-1 advantage. In the last battle, he practically didn't let his opponent do anything, and after the 4K8 7 Q board, where the players stacked with Q4 (Taherkhani) and 65 (Koon) combinations, it was definitely decided.

The $663,000 prize is Koon's 29th ITM finish in the Triton Series and a record sixth title overall. “I love it here! I no longer travel for poker unless it's the Triton series. Everyone is my friend here, I really love it here," declared the happy record holder shortly after the win. "Yes, I had a good run, but of course my experience also weighed. I have been playing these tournaments for a long time with a small and relatively equal field of players, many players well I know. The last two Triton stops didn't work out for me, I was also sick and tired from traveling, but here I feel I'm in the best shape - this will be another good trip!"
