Jeremy Ausmus wins his first Triton title along with a $1,892,000 prize

Article cover

The Triton Poker Super High Roller Series taking place at the Landing Casino at Shinhwa World Jeju has been breaking records from the start. First it was the record for the number of entries in the first event, and then the third event broke that number as well. However, you can read more about that in the article below:

The third event of the Triton Jeju series, which was an NLH format event with a buy-in of $26,500, set a new record with 391 entries. This brought the prizepool to $9,775,000 and $1,892,000 awaited the winner.

The final table line-up

73 players made it to the final day, but only 63 of them were able to make it to the ITM. Traditionally, the biggest prizes were handed out at the final table, with names like Aliaksandr Shylko, Matthias Eibinger, Alexander "Wolfgang Poker" Seibt and PGT Player of the Year 2024 Jeremy Ausmus.

Successful poker Youtuber Alexander "Wolfgang Poker" Seibt started the final table with the second smallest stack, but even that didn't stop him from making it into the top four players. This is the very first stop for Seibt in the Triton series, and he made a nice finish in his third tournament. He took home $680,000 for his 4th place finish.

Jeremy Ausmus and Chinese player Quan Zhou sat down in the final heads-up match. It was Quan who started here as chipleader with a stack of 47,900,000 (30 bb), while Jeremy had a stack of 30,400,000 (19 bb). It took only one hand for Jeremy Ausmus to take over the chipleader position and he didn't let the chance for his first Triton title to slip away. In the end, Jeremy took home the trophy and the full prize of $1,892,000.

We'll have to stick with Jeremy's name for a moment, though, because this achievement might not have happened if he hadn't made a mistake while playing in a 23-player field. With K-K on his hand, Jeremy wanted to raise preflop, but he threw the wrong bet amount behind the line and was forced to just call. Little did he know that this move may have saved him a large portion of his stack, as Aliaksandr Shylko had aces.

Event 5 will see a winner today

The schedule traditionally omits event number 4, so the fourth event on the schedule is event number 5, which is an NLH format event with a buy-in of $31,800. That one no longer set a record, and the final number of entries stopped at 252, for a prizepool of $7,560,000.

Forty-five players advanced to the final table, and Kiat Lee leads the way with a stack of 3,390,000. The ITM is open to 39 players, with a minimum prize of $52,000 and $1,517,000 awaiting the winner. Names like Alex Foxen, Christoph Vogelsang, Nick Petrangelo, Mikita Badziakouski, Leon Sturm, Isaac Haxton, Rainer Kempe, David Peters, Nacho Barbero and Dietrich Fast are still in the game for this prize.
