Thanks to our recent article on Chris Moneymaker's win, you'll already know that the Enjoy Poker Tour series was held in Uruguay, specifically Punta del Este.
This one attracted German players as well, and two of them were sitting at the final table of the $1,500 buy-in, $200,000 Closer tournament. The entries count reached 208 here, splitting a prizepool worth $272,272.
A prize of $66,972 awaited the winner here, and two German players, Manig Loeser and Rene Nezhoda, battled it out at the final table. Sitting at the final table as chipleader was Argentina's Carlos Herrera.
Rene Nezhoda eventually finished in 6th place with a $10,865 prize and the original chipleader finished in third place with a $27,910 prize. Manig Loeser and Juan Sebastian Fonseca of Colombia went into the final heads-up.
In the final hand, Manig found K-J and his opponent found K-4, with which he hit two pair on the board. After the turn, Manig went all-in, which his opponent immediately called. Only a few more outs could save the German player, and after the river folded, Manig Loeser was able to enjoy the win he had been waiting for since 2022. He took home the trophy and the sum of $66,972.
