The Landing Casino at Shinhwa World Jeju hosts another stop of the Triton Super High Roller Series, bringing together the world's top poker players. The No. 8 event, which was the $53,000 buy-in NLH 7-Handed, is now past us.
This tournament brought 215 entries and a prizepool worth $10,750,000, with $2,233,000 awaiting the winner. This amount was contested by 8 players at the final table and was led by Dylan Linde with a stack of 10,525,000. However, there were also names like Bryn Kenney, Mario Mosböck, Mike Watson, Steve O'Dwyer and Juan Pardo.
Bounty break
Moments after the final table was assembled, the players left for a dinner break while opening their Mystery Bounty envelopes that they had earned during the previous tournament. The Mystery Bounty was won by Sean Winter, who added $140,000 to his $935,000 winnings. Runner-up Mikita Badziakouski notched up $420,000, Matthias Eibinger added another $750,000 to his original $363,000 bounty, and the biggest prize went to Matas Cimbolas, who opened an envelope with a $500,000 bounty for a total of $1,080,000.
After the break, it was Matas Cimbolas who was the first player eliminated, and he pocketed $276,000 for his 8th place finish. He was followed to the cash desk by Mike Watson, who took home $377,000.
Sixth and fifth place went to Brandon Wilson and Dylan Linde, and fourth place went to Steve O'Dwyer. Just before the final heads-up, Juan Pardo busted out for $1,055,000.
Heading into heads-up play as chipleader was Bryn Kenney with a stack worth 52 blinds, against whom sat Austrian player Mario Mosböck with a 35 blind stack. The players opted for the ICM deal, after which Kenney was assured of $1,897,430 and Mosböck secured $1,766,570.
However, there was still $70,000 to play for and a trophy for the winner. Heads-up play lasted just 5 hands, during which Mosböck was dealt pocket aces, then hit three Jacks, before winning the tournament with queens on his hand. Mario Mosböck thus became a three-time Triton champion and also took home $1,836,570. As you may have noticed, even though Kenney didn't win, he still took home a larger sum than Mosböck.
