MASTERS: Peter Kamaras became the 36th champion and took home €33,900 after a gentleman's deal

Banco Casino Bratislava's legendary poker series, labeled Masters, culminated yesterday with its 36th edition. The tournament, which players have participated in a total of 1,282 times, first saw 129 players who battled it out in Sunday's Day 2 for the 16 final spots and then the winner in Monday's final. Peter Kamaras huge chip leader

At four o'clock, sixteen of the best in the battle for the Masters title sat down at the poker tables in Banco Casino Bratislava. After several hours of play and interesting action, the last two tables formed into one - the final table, which was dominated by Peter Kamaras with a huge lead after the stacks were tallied. His 18.5 million stack was more than twice that of second-placed Dávid Klein.

Gentleman's deal in the heads-up

In the long final match, Dávid Klein did best among the Slovaks, who hit the shot of his life and collected €10,520 for the 4th place. Dominik Matesa and Peter Kamaras met in the final heads-up. After playing for a while, the stacks were even, so the players agreed on a gentleman's deal. Kamaras took home €27,500 and Matesa €29,500. The €6,400 playoff was won by Peter Kamaras, who after an amazing performance earned €33,900 and the indelible title of the 36th Banco Casino Masters champion. Congratulations!
