There's been a lot going on in poker lately, and there's no shortage of scandalous situations. The latest scandal was brought to light by Shaun Deeb, who shared this video on the X/Twitter platform:
I got a better quality video I have spoken to a floor person of legends who confirmed multiple dealers were fired for messing with the decks in the past month I am disappointed that no players were caught and the dealers were not prosecuted or outed so they can go do it elsewhere pic.twitter.com/rEOgQ2ly4k

It all takes place in Houston, USA at the popular Legends poker room during a cash game. Shaun himself writes about the video: "I got a pretty disgusting video from a player at the Legends poker room in Houston, it seems there were a couple of unfair dealers. I spoke to a person from Legends who confirmed that several dealers were fired for 'playing' with decks over the last month. Having watched this video several times, it appears that he was trying to keep an ace on top of the deck in order to pass it to someone at the table, did anyone else notice this?"
Community divided again
Immediately, however, the poker community began to split into several camps. One group claims it's just the dealer's fault for being poorly trained. To some, it's perfectly legitimate shuffling, and another group claims that it's clearly card shuffling, and that it's quite common in this poker room. However, there is also the opinion that it is not possible to cheat in this style, and that no dealer knows how to shuffle the cards in this way.
The various accusations of cheating in this poker room are said to be nothing new. One of the discussants even claims to have a friend who lost $20,000 in such a "staged" hand.
It only took a few hours and Shaun shared another video from Houston, but now from a different poker room. Here too, a very unusual dealer shuffle is captured, and even Shaun himself says he wouldn't have noticed it at the table at all.
Another video def a diff dealer from another Houston club this mechanic seems a lot better and trickier I wouldn't of noticed this at the table at all https://t.co/BQNBPc8Gvx

This isn't the first negative ad for Legends
For the Legends poker room in Houston specifically, this case isn't the first unflattering ad. There have been several controversial situations that have happened here over the past few years. For example, there have been several shootings here, and in January 2022, security personnel foiled an armed robbery here. Various fights or other violence are also common here, and on more than one occasion players have had to hide under a table before being attacked.
What do you think about the whole issue? Was it just the fault of a poorly trained dealer, or was he shuffling the cards and committing fraud? Is it even possible to shuffle a particular hand in this style? Let us know in the comments on our social networks!
