Number eight - fantastic Jason Koon adds to his record number of Triton titles!

The non-stop high stakes action taking place in London these days during the Triton SHRS series continued yesterday, and the spectators were once again in for a treat. The growing trend, both in buy-in levels and prize pool values, continued in the final of the sixth event. The $60,000 buy-in was paid a total of 104 times, giving the top 17 players a prize pool of $6,240,000.

32 survivors from the first day jumped into the final day yesterday, but you could follow their journey live again via Live Stream:

The mincash in this tournament was worth $98,000, which Fedor Holz took home first. In order for the players to be able to enjoy the financial rewards, it was necessary to burst the bubble, and it fell to Paul Phu in this tournament. With A Q  he was doing well against Suvarna's J T , but the river T definitely decided everything.

But even this hand did not help Suvarna on his way to the final table, as he had to say goodbye to the tournament in 12th place. After him, Seth Gottlieb, Leon Sturm and Nacho Barbero followed him to the cash desk, thanks to which we got to know the players of the final table:

  • Jason Koon – 65 BBs
  • Matthias Eibinger – 54 BBs
  • Dan Smith – 32 BBs
  • Justin Saliba – 30 BBs
  • Phil Ivey – 24 BBs
  • Espen Jorstad – 23 BBs
  • Rodrigo Selouan – 23 BBs
  • Alex Kulev – 10 BBs

Unfortunately for many viewers, the biggest names were among the first to leave the final table in this tournament, but gradually we formed the final three consisting of Jason Koon, Rodrigo Selouan and Justin Saliba. Saliba ended his journey in third place, but the $690,000 was by far his biggest career hit.

Triton series record holder Jason Koon entered the final heads-up with 53bb, against whom Brazilian online crusher Rodrigo Selouan sat with 31bb. At first, the cautious lowball game escalated only in a low-key hand, where players gradually got all their chips over the line on the 3 K 6 A Tboard. Selouan tried to make a hero-call of the tournament with J 6 , but unfortunately Koon had A K  under his hand, which definitively decided the fate of both players and the entire tournament.

Jason Koon's incredible form thus reached a new goal when, after just two months, he once again increased his record number of titles. "Maybe it sounds akward to you, but I really enjoy it!" said the satisfied champion with a laugh. "It's still true that I play a lot less events than I used to, but for that, I fully concentrate on the ones I choose. It's about staying fresh, focused, doing what you love and surrounding yourself with the best people. Here in the Triton Series, there are a lot of players around me who are better than me, but I can still learn and move forward!”
