The High Stakes Duel has now run for 4 series and the last one we saw was in August 2023 when Daniel Negreanu and Doug Polk faced each other. The winner then was Daniel Negreanu and he took home $200,000.
On November 12, we can look forward to the fifth edition of the High Stakes Duel, pitting Patrik Antonius and Jared Bleznick against each other. Patrik Antonius became a new member of the WSOP Hall of Fame this year and has over $23.6 million in winnings. Jared Bleznick is the PLO Super High Roller Bowl PLO champion and his total winnings are worth more than $6.8 million.
In the first round of the High Stakes Duel, both players must buy-in $50,000 and each subsequent round the buy-in doubles, with no maximum limit. New rounds will be held each week until one player gives up. The player who stays in the game will be crowned the new champion.
Since both players like the PLO format, the duel will now consist of both NLH and PLO. Every 10 hands the format of the game will change. The entire heads-up will take place in the PokerGO studio, located at the Aria Casino in Las Vegas. It will be streamed live on PokerGO's pay-per-play platform.
"Jared and Patrick are without a doubt two of the most accomplished and talented players in the game, and watching them battle it out with doubling down every round will be an exciting ride. This is the kind of poker our fans crave and we are proud to offer it," said Brent Hanks, Director of Programming at PokerGO.
