EPT Prague, which took place at the Hilton Prague, is now over and we have already met the Main Event and High Roller champions. The €5,300 buy-in Main Event brought in a record number of entries, 1,458, bringing the prize pool to €7,071,300. A prize of €1,146,500 awaited the winner.
The top 6 players battled it out for this prize in the final table, and they were led by the huge chipleader Paul Runcan with a stack of up to 18,025,000. With the second biggest stack here worth 9,225,000 was Pedro Marques. With the smallest stack here was Jaehyung Park.
Jaehyung Park eventually managed to fight his way up to third place, earning himself €512,100. Paul Runcan and Pedro Marques finally made it to the final heads-up, with Runcan having a huge stack worth up to 120 blinds. His opponent held a 25 blind stack.
Pedro Marques, however, managed to match the stacks and that was exactly the time when the players made a deal together. The two secured €900,000 and finished in a tie for the trophy and an extra €63,450 for the winner. Pedro Marques managed to outlast his opponent to become the champion of the record-breaking EPT Prague Main Event, taking home €963,450.
EPT High Roller dominated by Patrik Jaros
Yesterday also saw the final day of the EPT High Roller with a buy-in of €10,300, which brought 289 entries and a prizepool of €2,803,300. A total of €573,500 awaited the winner here, and 14 players battled it out in the final table.
Mariusz Golinski from Poland was the chipleader here, but there were also names like Patrik Jaroš, Vojtěch Růžička, Artsiom Lasouski, Espen Jorstad, László Molnár and Anton Wigg. Artsiom Lasouski was the chipleader at the final table, followed by Anton Wigg and Patrik Jaroš.
Playing in a seven-player game, Patrik Jaroš took the lead and never let the chance of success out of his hands. His compatriot Vojtěch Růžička was also on the table and had to settle for 4th place and a prize of €196,900.
Patrik made it to the final heads-up with a 3:1 advantage and after a short heads-up he was also crowned champion, for which he won his second EPT trophy from the current edition of EPT Prague. A few days ago, he was the champion of the €5,200 PLO tournament, where he took home €151,600. Now he has won a handsome €573,500 for winning the EPT High Roller.
