Salman Behbehani - the current 466th place in worldwide all-time money list may not be one of the most famous poker names, but with almost $3.5 million in live tournament winnings, we certainly can't talk about any amateur. A regular participant in big poker series and expensive high rollers, he has been in the poker world for over 13 years, during which he appeared at the three final tables of the WSOP bracelet events and won three EPT side events. Nevertheless, he has only gained worldwide fame now.

Paradoxically, he certainly did not care for such fame, as today we will not talk about any epic tournament win or a brutal hand from the TV table. Behbehani's name and face appear all over the world for a completely different reason - he should be the person they detained at Ibiza airport with a briefcase full of drugs.

On Friday at 03:00 local time, a private plane landed at Ibiza Airport directly from Vegas, from which several passengers disembarked, including the Behbehani. He went with his hand luggage directly through the airport control, where local workers stayed surprised - the scanner detected more than 1.5 kg of narcotics and psychotropic substances in his suitcase.

The specially ajdusted case contained a number of small boxes, tubes, bags and containers, which, according to the official minutes, contained:

  • 315 grams of cocaine
  • 171 grams of 2C-B (hallucinogen)
  • 705 grams of hashish
  • 80 grams of meth
  • Unspecified amounts of marijuana, ecstasy, mushrooms, LSD, speed and other drugs

In addition, the police detained all his cash, which was divided into euros, dollars, pounds, Kuwaiti dinars and Thai bhats. Behbehani was immediately arrested, where he is awaiting trial without the possibility of paying bail. Although the details are not yet known, according to preliminary estimates, he could end up in prison for 3 to 6 years after confirmation of guilt.
