PSPC: The record is about to be broken, Moorman is the chip leader after day 1

Article cover

The unique $25,000 tournament called the PS Players Championship hides under its name a unique event in which the best and most talented players in the world are at the tables supplemented by qualifiers and winners of various competitions. When you add to that the luxurious environment of the Bahamian resort Baha Mar and the presence of the biggest stars of the poker world, we can immediately talk about a unique life experience.

This idea was first introduced to the world in 2019, when qualifier Ramon Colillas became the only undefeated out of 1,039 entries, taking home a life-changing $5,100,000. Well, in four days, the winner of the second edition of the PSPC, which has completed the first and only day 1, will take home a similar amount.

As you probably know, this tournament is a pure freezeout to prevent the pros from playing the qualifiers with multiple rounds, but also the tournament only offers one opening day, but late registration is open even during the opening of today's day 2. What did yesterday's day 1 bring?

Traditionally, the tournament was kicked off by Bruce Buffer, whose Shuffle Up and Deal resonated throughout the hall for a long time. Writing about big names in the game is meaningless, as all the tables were overflowing with quality and everywhere it was teeming with top poker pros. A total of 1,005 players participated in the first day of play, of which 678 survived the eight hour-long levels.

At the top of the survivors is Chris Moorman, a man long considered one of the best online players in the world. He managed to make a stack of 356,000 from his 60k stack, which is 237bb.

As already announced, today the tournament will continue with the second playing day, during which registration will be closed and we will know the final numbers along with the payout structure. There is something to look forward to, and we, the spectators, can once again look forward to the live stream, which you can find on our website in the evening.
