The CPT Asia Poker Arena in Taipei hosted the WPT Prime Taiwan series, the main attraction of which was of course the WPT Prime Championship with a buy-in of approximately $1,100.
New record
This tournament brought in a whopping 1,666 entries, making it the largest WPT Prime Championship outside of Las Vegas. This brought the prizepool to $1,597,435 and a $250,700 prize awaited the winner.
The top 13 players entered the final day and the chipleader here was Jereld Sam from Singapore. Jereld also sat at the final table, but here he had the smallest stack. However, even that didn't stop him and in the end he was the winner, taking home the trophy, a $250,700 prize and a $10,400 ticket to the WPT World Championship in Las Vegas in December.

WPT Prime Liechtenstein
The record for most entries in the WPT Prime Championship was held by Grand Casino Liechtenstein, which last year brought 1,644 entries and a prizepool worth CHF 1,644,000. The winner then was Hungarian player David Kozma, who made a profit of CHF 268,340.
However, the current record set by WPT Prime Taiwan could be shattered in just a few weeks' time, as WPT Prime Liechtenstein kicks off on August 28. This particular Championship with a buy-in of CHF 1,100 is scheduled to start on September 5, offering up to 5 opening flights and a guarantee of CHF 1,000,000. The new winner will be announced on September 9. What do you think, will Grand Casino Liechtenstein manage to beat the 1,666 entries?
