However, Samuel was able to battle his way up to chipleader position during the game and held that position until the last three players. He even made an incredible call to knock out Israeli player Or Yaaqov Nezer, who finished in 4th place. Nezer decided to bluff after laying out a full board and put his entire stack of over 5 million into play. However, Mullur sensed the bluff and called his opponent's call with just a pair of fours. However, those were enough in this case.
Mullur entered the last three as a massive chipleader, but he didn't hold that position for long. Ivan Govorov stepped up to take over the chipleader position and didn't let the chance for the success to slip away. He went into the final heads-up with a stack of up to 38 million, against Mullur with a stack of 10 million. Heads-up play lasted only a few minutes, after which Russian player Govorov emerged as the winner. Samuel Mullur earned €107,728 for his second place finish.
