As I'm sure you're all aware, the SCOOP online festival is underway these days, running from May 5 to May 29, and will give away a total of $75 million in guarantees across 128 tournaments.
We certainly don't need to introduce you to the name of Dutch professional poker player and streamer Lex Veldhuis, so we won't, and we'll get straight to the highlights.
First SCOOP title for Veldhuis
Lex Veldhuis has a lot of successes and wins to his name, but the SCOOP series was the one he was missing. But not only that, Lex didn't have a single title from any COOP festival. But that changed a few days ago.
On Sunday, Lex blasted his way to the final table of the SCOOP 41-H: $5,200 NLHE Titans, a 128-entry, $640,000 prizepool event where a $140,278.96 payday awaited the winner.
The final table was made up of world-class players, with opponents including names like Yuri "theNERDguy" Dzivielevski, Kahle "ROFLshove" Burns, Roman "RomeOpro" Romanovsky, Patrick "pads1161" Leonard and the successful Hungarian player "Wildace_hun".
However, Lex was able to handle his opponents, defeating even the player with the nickname "Nacho12441" in the short final heads-up match to become the new SCOOP champion. This success was followed by Lex's huge burst of joy. You can watch his entire journey through the final table in the attached video.
