The Crystal Cove Hotel and Casino in Cyprus hosted the Merit Poker Carmen Series Main Event over the past few days, which guaranteed $1,500,000 for a buy-in of $3,300.
The Serbian player didn't give anyone a chance
This tournament brought in a whopping 881 entries, the largest player field in the series. This brought the prizepool to $2,431,560 and a $401,000 prize awaited the winner along with the trophy.
The top 9 players battled it out for that amount in yesterday's final table and they were led by Serbia's Nenad Dukic with a stack of 17,700,000. In second place was Russian player Mikhail Zavoloka with a stack of 15,275,000. In total, there were players from as many as seven countries at the final table.
Nenad Dukic didn't let go of his chipleader position and was clearly on his way to victory. He was up against Akin Tuna from Turkey in the final heads-up match. Dukic held a stack of up to 62,000,000, while Tuna had a stack of just 26,000,000. The entire heads-up lasted just two hands, after which Nenad Dukic was the winner. He thus won the trophy and the $401,000 prize. Akin Tuna took home $265,000 for his second place finish.
