The PGT Last Chance took place over the past few days at the PokerGO Studio at the ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas and offered 6 NLH tournaments with a buy-in of $10,100. It was the last chance for players to earn points towards the final 2024 leaderboard, where the top 40 players will play a PGT Championship freeroll with a $1,000,000 prizepool.
We've already introduced you to the four tournaments that have recognized their champion, so we feel obligated to introduce you to the last two winners' names. So let's start with tournament number 5, which brought in a record 121 entries for a prizepool of $1,210,000. This tournament became the biggest PGT tournament with a buy-in of $10,100.
Traditionally, 7 players made it to the final table, led by Martin Zamani. However, there were also names like Chris Brewer, Rania Nasreddine, Ren Lin and Kristen Foxen. And it was Kristen Foxen and Martin Zamani who met here in the final heads-up match. Zamani was the winner, taking home the trophy and a prize of $302,500. Kristen earned $187,550 for her second place finish.

Last tournament of the series
The final tournament of the PGT Last Chance series produced 116 entries and a prizepool of $1,160,000, of which $290,000 awaited the winner. The chipleader here was Shannon Shorr, who has already taken home one trophy, and that was from the second tournament of the series, for which he earned $297,500. Although he lost the chipleader position in the final table, he didn't give anyone a chance to succeed in the end. In the final heads-up, Boris Angelov sat opposite him and it took just three hands to see the champion. Shannon Shorr became a two-time PGT Last Chance champion and added $290,000 to his second trophy.
Place | Name | Country | PGT Points | Prize |
1st | Shannon Shorr | United States | 290 | $290,000 |
2nd | Boris Angelov | Bulgaria | 180 | $179,800 |
3rd | Ren Lin | China | 128 | $127,600 |
4th | Sean Winter | United States | 99 | $98,600 |

6th | Jeremy Becker | United States | 58 | $58,000 |
7th | Dylan Linde | United States | 46 | $46,400 |
With this success, Shannon finally overtook Brandon Wilson in the table, who won two tournaments in less than 24 hours. Shannon, Wilson and Martin Zamani have now won the Dream Seat, which means they will play in the Million Dollar Freeroll. That's because the three players with the most PGT Last Chance points could earn a seat there, but they also had to be players who were no longer assured of a seat from the year's overall scoring.
The 5 players on the PGT Last Chance leaderboard who did not earn a Dream Seat but did earn a Dream Pass will be competing in a tournament later today for a spot in the freeroll. A $500,000 prize awaits the winner of the freeroll. This is made up of $150,000 in prize money and a PGT Passport worth $350,000.
The winner of the year-long PGT scoring for 2024 was finally Jeremy Ausmus, who scored a whopping 2,966 points. Second place went to Daniel Negreanu with 2,054 points and third place went to Seth Davies with 1,855 points.
