If you follow us regularly and carefully, you definitely did not miss our premiere SPADEPOKER TOUR. The unique festival brought a fantastic atmosphere and a great poker event to Banco Casino Bratislava, led by the €100,000 Main Event. The final day was scheduled on Monday, and welcomed the top eight players in front of the TV cameras.
The glow of the spotlights, the great financial rewards and the desire to take home the unique trophy did their job, so the beginning of the day was very careful, as no one wanted to go home early. But the poker is relentless game, so Frodox (€ 2,369), Martin Szecsenyi (€ 3,169), Joszef Dobos (€ 4,169), Alexander Oswald (€ 5,169) and home country representative Michal Staňák (€ 6,269) had to gradually go to the cash desk against their will.
After this drop-out, there was a discussion about the deal, which ended in failure. The players did not agree, mainly due to the protests of Sebastian Kotowicz, who can regret it - he was the one who immediately left the tournament in third place for €8,569, which moved the game to the final heads-up.
Slovak Patrik Kuník and the Austrian player Thomas Q went into the final heads-up. The two agreed at the beginning of the heads-up on a deal, from which Kuník secured €14,969 and Thomas €15,918. So they played for the trophy, the title and €3,350 for the champion. The chips were almost balanced and everything was open, but Paťo Kuník fell to a complete short stack at the beginning of the heads-up. But even that did not stop him, he showed that he is a great fighter and in the end he managed to turn the scales in his favor, thanks to which he became the historically first SPADEPOKER TOUR champion!
